About Tobermory Distillery
Established in 1798 by John Sinclair, Tobermory Distillery is the sole whisky producer on the picturesque Isle of Mull, nestled in the vibrant coastal town of Tobermory, Scotland. Renowned for its artisanal craftsmanship and dual production of unpeated Tobermory single malt and peated Ledaig whisky, the distillery embodies the rugged beauty and maritime spirit of the Hebrides. With over two centuries of heritage, Tobermory has carved a niche in the premium whisky market, blending tradition with innovation to create whiskies that capture the essence of Mull’s wild landscapes.
Owned by Burn Stewart Distillers, a subsidiary of the Distell Group (itself under Heineken N.V.), Tobermory’s commitment to quality and its unique island character position it as an attractive prospect for whisky enthusiasts and investors alike.
Located at the foot of a steep hill by Tobermory Bay, the distillery draws its water from a private loch near the Mishnish Lochs, infusing its whiskies with subtle peaty phenols reflective of Mull’s terroir.
